AI as electricity
G20 rhetoric until customers clear interconnect. SpaceX walking into the power bind is adjacent, not this layer.
Draft atlas · Chapter 1 from Signal № 016
Not a new H-number. Parallel to the H15 SpaceX map: same vertical-integration logic, different integrator. Nvidia already owns the chip layer and is buying the distribution layer so more of the world’s models run on its silicon. Jensen drew this stack at the G20 ministerial in Chapel Hill. We map evidence onto his layers. We do not invent a sixth.
SpaceX is trying to own power through application so it does not have to rent the stack. Nvidia already owns chips and is buying the open-weight library.
Two integrators, two directions. Both can be true. Hugging Face inside Nvidia is not a SpaceX story. Keep the maps separate. Weekly Signal copy points here; the atlas stays off the Tuesday issue except as a link.
Chapter 1 · Signal № 016 · foundation map
Read top-down the way Jensen stated it at G20: energy, chips, data centres, models, applications. Energy is the industry bind. Chips are the proven cash engine. Everything above that is how Nvidia keeps the engine running. Poolside was a $6 billion spend on software (Signal 014). Hugging Face is the $12.9 billion conversion on distribution this week.
Foundation map
What already pays → what converted → what is still a claim
Layer 1 · Energy
Customer problem Nvidia does not own turbines
G20 rhetoric until customers clear interconnect. SpaceX walking into the power bind is adjacent, not this layer.
Layer 2 · Chips
The paying engine
Proven cash engine. Semiconductor tariffs (Lutnick, G20 sidelines) are adjacent noise.
Layer 3 · Data centres
Finance and guarantee, not ownership deals filling
GPU-tied loans, Anthropic Texas lease, stakes in builders. Deals filling is the 013 callback.
Still preliminary. ~$1tn 2026 US pledge remains rhetorical until binding.
Layer 4 · Models
Open weights → more inference demand
US$12.9B · binding move
Owns the hub where open weights are stored, downloaded, and fine-tuned. Poolside was spend. This is conversion.
Signal 011: more models, more inference. Price HOLD until Nvidia primary confirms.
Layer 5 · Data & applications
CUDA and enterprise software HF feeds in, not the app
Software bind on top of silicon. Not Cursor-class application ownership.
US companies adopting open weights for cost. Demand is real; Nvidia revenue attribution is not yet.
SpaceX integrates up from application toward power. Nvidia integrates down from chips into models and distribution. Hugging Face is the Cursor-class move on Nvidia’s map: a binding acquisition on a layer the company did not previously own.
Solid = proven or paying. Green = converted this chapter. Dashed = still a claim. Do not put Carolina Principles, Astra, or Crusoe on this map as converted.
Watch: Hugging Face close on $12.9bn terms; open-weight traffic after close still on Nvidia silicon; $500bn platform binding pledges; December G20 leaders summit at Doral.
This map touches the same cross-cutting theses as H15, from the supplier side:
Chapter 1 lands in Signal № 016. Earlier context: Signal 014 (Poolside spend), Signal 015 (full-stack path, HF price cut as rumour). Compare with H15 SpaceX map.
